Week 2 Lesson: Learning about Careers

Have you felt worried lately??

Head to the Classroom Lesson page for Worry Lessons from Counselor Keri!

This week let's do some career exploring! Instead of bringing speakers in, I will have to settle for bringing them to you!

Directions: 

  • Visit this web link A-Z Career Lab

  • Watch the 3 career videos you would like to learn more about. (You may get through the video clip faster by skipping to interview part.)

  • Answer the following questions for each video.

    • What does someone in this career do?​

    • What might someone be good at who works in this career?

    • What might someone's interests be if they work in this career?

  • Last Question (only to be answered once)

    • What is your favorite career that you learned about today?​

  • Email them to me at kira.fischer@k12.nd.us.

Week 3 Lesson: Conflict Resolution

Get out the popcorn and pop and have fun watching a "homeschool" assembly with your family! Comedian and youth speaker Brooks Gibbs will teach you how to stop 3 different types of conflicts!

1. Watch the Intro Video Clip above.
2. Have a parent or guardian sign up for free access to the homeschool assembly through this link.
3.  Watch the 35 min. homeschool assembly with your family.
4.  Fill out the Google Form so I know that you watched the video.
5. If you would like, watch any of the 5 min. conflict resolution training clips included in the free access or watch any of the videos on Brook's Facebook page to find out how to specifically solve some of the problems you are having with family or friends. (Topics include: She takes my phone, She breaks my game, My brother is annoying me, I'm extremely shy.)

Week 4 Lesson: Conflict Resolution - Physical Aggression

1) Stay Calm

2) Be Kind

3) Ask: Are you mad at me?

4) Apologize.

Week 7 Lesson: Teach Your Brain to Like You

Create a reminder starting with:

"I'm Gonna Like Me When...."

Chose two things that you like about you.

Chose one mistake that you have made.

Post them somewhere to keep teaching your brain to like you!
