Des Lacs Burlington Elementary School Counseling
About Me
My name is Kira Fischer and I am the elementary school counselor in Des Lacs Burlington. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to continue my career in this beautiful/friendly community!
I grew up in the small town of Kenmare, ND where I played volleyball, ran track, participated in speech, was a member of FBLA and 4-H, attended Close-Up, and was involved in choir and band.
My parents are both teachers in Kenmare and my dad is the head volleyball coach. I am the oldest of my two siblings. My brother lives in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada and is employed as an operating room nurse. My sister is a 6th grade teacher in Mohall.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Minot State University and my Masters in Counseling Degree from University of Mary.
I took my first job as a school counselor in Ellendale, ND where I took on the role as a K-12 counselor. I served the area for 3 years before taking on the elementary counselor position in Burlington. The '24-'25 school year marks my 7th year in Burlington.
My husband, Dustin, and I have been married for 11 years. We have an 8-year-old son named Wyatt and 6-year-old twins named Jasmine and Trevor.
My kids keep me busy most of the time and I enjoy spending time with them most. In my free-time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, crafts, coloring, fitness classes, spending time outside on a sunny day, reading, and listening to music.
I absolutely love it here in Burlington and can't imagine myself anywhere else!
